Anand, Wednesday: Niceol Manufacturing Company, operating in Jahaj and Dharmaj villages of Khambhat Taluka, has taken a significant step towards cleanliness under its CSR initiative. The company, led by Director Mr. Sara Patel and its environmental team, collaborated with Vadodara-based NGO “Kachre Se Azaadi Foundation” to establish a waste segregation shed in Jahaj village.
The Jahaj Gram Panchayat provided land for the segregation shed, which was officially inaugurated by Mrs. Margiben Patel, Regional Officer, Gujarat Pollution Control Board, Anand.
The Kachre Se Azaadi Foundation conducted awareness programs for village women, educating them on proper waste segregation at home. Additionally, the NGO actively collects and sorts waste from each household and rewards residents for their participation.
As part of Niceol Company’s CSR initiative, solid waste is recycled, preventing plastic littering in the village. The compost produced from solid waste can be used for agriculture, promoting sustainability.
Mrs. Margiben Patel, Regional Officer, Gujarat Pollution Control Board, stated that due to the efforts of Niceol Company and the NGO, Jahaj village will soon become one of the cleanest villages in Khambhat Taluka.
During the inauguration of the Solid Waste Management Project, the Kachre Se Azaadi Foundation team demonstrated the waste collection and recycling process and showcased various recycled products.
The event also saw a collective cleanliness drive, where local dignitaries and villagers participated in cleaning the village.
The program was attended by Jahaj Village Sarpanch, Deputy Sarpanch Mrs. Sheetalben Patel, Maganbhai Vankar, local villagers, and a large number of women.
