Introduction


The Anand district was found on 2-10-97 i.e.on Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday from heather to exiting Kheda district. In Anand District, according to the year 2001 census literary ratio of male is 86.31% where as female literacy ratio is 62.54% and total literacy ratio is 74.75 %. The women average literacy ratio is 71.34% in Anand district. The same is 52.34% in Tarapur taluka Anad is considered as N.R.I district highly educated and least educated villages exist in this district. The district administration since years is making efforts to encourages girl child’s education in primary schools, So as to gradually reduce the average difference of 35% education ratio between men and women. At present there are only 17 village having less than 35 women literacy ratio. There is not a single village with less than 27% women literacy ratio. Looking at this, the Anand district’s contribution in education field is well spread, large and important.

Anand district’s primary education framework consists of 8 (eight) talukas, 20 Bits and 125 pay centers. B.R.C and C.R.C centers are 08 and 125 respectively. The district primary education network covers total 1034 schools. The member of students studing in primary schools having standard 1 to 7 are 10827 which in clouds girls and boys of schedule caste, 4497 including boys and girls of Schedule Tribe categories. In this way the total number of students is 230618 which shows good progress in the field of primary education.

The children are given diverse education in district primary schools. To teach children with joy and cheer and to keep them informed, internship activities like children festival, children games competition, science festival, cultural program like dance and garba, exhibition of teaching instruments, months competition, etc. are arranged. Thus the primary education base in the district is strong.

 

Sports programs


Sports and games events are arranged in primary schools of Anand district for the students of district and taluka level, games likes crickets, kabaddi, kho-kho and sports such as short put, long jump, high jump etc. are organized.

Annual expenditure for the above is granted as financial aid which is given as under.

  • 3500 per pay centre of the government
  • 5000 for taluka sports / games activity
  • 15000 for self created fund
  • Students are given encouragements, prizes and awards from the grant received from the said financial Aid.

 

Cultural Programs


In 1034 primary schools of Anand district the program of ‘Praveshotsav’ is celebrated for girls education for students admitted in standard 1. Also cultural program such as garba, drama, etc, are arranged.

For this the sum of Rs.25000 is approved as financial aid from Anand budget of self created fund.

 

Knowledge of computer


According to the approach of the Gujarat government and the suggestion from the government, all the Primary School have been included under the computer project. This is to enhance the skills and knowledge of the students.

An effort has been made to provide computer education to the students through donation of computer from the donors of the district primary schools. The government provides 1 computer against 1 donated through the 1:1 project. The schools are provided computers through the donation against which the government also provides the computer for which such a procedure is carried out.

Computer education is provided to students by training the teachers by the District Primary Education.

In 58 Primary Schools the facility of computer lab has been provided by the Sarve Shikshan Abhiyan. Intel education provides training to teachers from M.T. level, teachers to all the teachers to give knowledge of computers. In this way teachers are able to provide the knowledge of computers to their students.

 

Books/Magazine


Books for extra-curicular reading are provided to be able to aid all the students of primary school of the Anand district for extensive studies. The financial Aid of Rs.1,50,000/- is moved to these schools from the self created fund. Also for extra-reading monthly magazines are sent to 1034 schools thought mail.

Rs.5,00,000/- is allotted to the annual expenditure for these magazines by the self created fund.
