Anand District Magistrate Praveen Chaudhary Issues PASA Orders to Curb Anti-Social Activities
Two individuals from Anand district were found to be illegally smuggling Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL) from outside the state and selling it in Anand and surrounding areas. This illegal trade poses a serious threat to public health.
Despite being aware of Gujarat’s prohibition policy, these individuals were reportedly engaged in large-scale illegal liquor sales, establishing themselves as notorious bootleggers in the region.
Their liquor-selling activities endangered public health, created fear, and posed a significant risk to public safety, law, and order. To prevent such illegal activities, based on a proposal from the Superintendent of Police, Anand, District Magistrate Praveen Chaudhary (IAS) ordered their detention under the Gujarat Prevention of Anti-Social Activities Act (PASA), 1985.
