Anand, Friday: The two-day Anand Utsav at Shastri Maidan, Vallabh Vidyanagar, was inaugurated by Tourism Minister Shri Mulubhai Bera. The festival is jointly organized by Gujarat Tourism Corporation, Gujarat State Sangeet Natak Academy, and Anand District Administration.
On the first day of the festival, renowned singer Padma Shri Kailash Kher captivated the audience with his unique blend of folk and Sufi music during the Kailasa Live concert. With his powerful voice and distinctive style, Kailash Kher has established himself as one of India’s most celebrated playback singers.
Addressing the gathering, Tourism Minister Mulubhai Bera emphasized Anand district’s rapid growth while preserving the memory and culture of Sardar Patel. He stated, “From Sardar Patel’s legacy to the White Revolution, Anand has evolved with innovation and modernization, making it a prosperous district. Anand is not just a center of development but also a land rich in history, education, research, art, culture, and spirituality. The gift of Amul from Anand stands as a great example of cooperative success across India.”
Highlighting the State Government’s focus on urban development in 2025, Minister Bera mentioned that a significant budget allocation has been made for the balanced and holistic development of cities. Anand Municipal Corporation’s first-ever budget of ₹1,055 crore is expected to propel Anand’s growth to new heights. He congratulated District Collector Shri Pravin Chaudhary and the entire administration for organizing Anand Utsav.
MP Miteshbhai Patel expressed joy over the fact that the first-ever Anand Utsav is being organized with the support of the State Government after the formation of Anand Municipal Corporation.
Welcoming the attendees, Collector Shri Pravin Chaudhary announced that Anand Utsav will be organized every year with the support of the district administration, industrial units, various organizations, and Sardar Patel University.
During his performance, Kailash Kher greeted the audience by saying, “Kem cho, Anand!” and remarked, “By the grace of divine energies and Mahadev, this golden moment has arrived in Anand.” He described Vidyangar as a city of education and Anand as the land of artists, thinkers, and creatives.
Before the event, Kailash Kher posted on his social media platform, X, stating, “Anand Utsav will resonate with divine melodies today!” He also shared that he recorded one of his early Gujarati Garba albums in Anand, making this event an emotional and spiritual moment for him.
The grand event witnessed the presence of Deputy Whip Shri Ramanbhai Solanki, District Panchayat President Shri Hasmukhbhai Patel, MLAs, prominent leader Shri Sanjaybhai Patel, various dignitaries, Municipal Commissioner Shri Milind Bapna, District Development Officer Ms. Devahuti, District Superintendent of Police J.J. Jasani, officials, and a massive crowd of Anand residents who wholeheartedly enjoyed the Anand Utsav.
