Mandatory Register Maintenance for Used Mobile Phone Dealers in Anand District

Anand, Tuesday: The Additional District Magistrate of Anand, R.S. Desai, has issued an official order requiring all dealers involved in the buying and selling of new and used mobile phones/handsets and SIM cards to maintain proper registers.

As per this order, dealers must record all details of sellers and buyers in their registers before purchasing or selling used mobile phones. Separate registers must be maintained for:

  1. New mobile/handset sales
  2. Used mobile phone purchases
  3. Used mobile phone sales
  4. SIM card sales

No individual shall sell, buy, or transfer any mobile phone, SIM card, or handset without a valid identification document. Both the seller and buyer will be responsible for ensuring proper documentation. Additionally, when requested by the competent authorities, dealers must present updated records for inspection.

  • The stock and sales registers for SIM cards, along with identity verification records, must be maintained for one year by distributors and for one month by retailers.

This directive will remain in effect until September 8, 2025. Any violation of this order will result in legal consequences.
