Highly Effective Chemical-Free Pesticide in Natural Farming – ‘Brahmastra’

Publish Date : 20/02/2025

Anand, Thursday: In natural farming, chemical-based pesticides are not used for crop protection. Instead, naturally prepared bio-pesticides such as Nimastra, Brahmastra, Agniastra, Dashparni Ark, Sour Buttermilk, and Sunthastra are utilized to safeguard crops, enhance productivity, and increase farmers’ income.

Preparation Process of ‘Brahmastra’ Bio-Pesticide

In natural farming, Brahmastra is primarily used to control large pests like caterpillars and larvae. The preparation of Brahmastra requires:

  • 20 liters of desi cow urine
  • 2 kg of neem leaves paste
  • 2 kg of karanj leaves paste
  • 2 kg of custard apple leaves paste
  • 2 kg of castor leaves paste
  • 2 kg of dhatura leaves paste
  • 2 kg of bael leaves paste

Any five of these leaf pastes should be mixed and heated on a low flame until it boils, then allowed to cool. The mixture should then be stirred for 5 minutes twice daily for two days in a clockwise direction. Afterward, it should be filtered using a warm cloth before use.

Brahmastra can be stored for up to 6 months. For application, 6 to 8 liters of Brahmastra should be mixed with 100 to 200 liters of water per acre and sprayed on crops.

In natural farming, using chemical-free bio-pesticides enhances agricultural productivity and increases farmers’ income. Among them, Brahmastra is highly effective for controlling pests like caterpillars and larvae.

It is worth mentioning that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has encouraged Indian farmers to adopt natural farming. Additionally, Governor of Gujarat, Acharya Devvrat, has launched a statewide campaign to promote natural farming. By adopting this method, farmers can achieve higher incomes at lower costs while also contributing to environmental conservation.
