Farmer Training on Natural Farming Held at Anand Agricultural University’s Research Center, Sansoli

Anand, Thursday: A farmer training program on natural farming was organized at the Farm Technology Training Center, Nenpur, under the joint initiative of the Sansoli Agricultural Research Center of Anand Agricultural University and Gujarat Green Revolution Company Limited. A total of 30 enthusiastic farmers from various villages of the district participated in the event.

During the session, Assistant Extension Educationist Dr. B.N. Thakkar provided farmers with detailed practical demonstrations on natural farming techniques. Additionally, State Agronomist of Green Revolution Company, Mr. Mitesh Patel, educated farmers on the efficient use of micro-irrigation systems and provided detailed insights into irrigation and fertigation schedules for major crops. Furthermore, Mr. Sagar Rathwa guided farmers on the “Per Drop More Crop – Micro Irrigation” scheme, explaining the application process and key considerations before applying.

Assistant Research Scientist Dr. M.B. Zala formally welcomed the invited guests and farmers. He also provided information on ongoing research, seed production, and extension activities at the center, as well as the newly developed castor varieties and recommended crop varieties introduced by Anand Agricultural University. He emphasized the importance of nutrient management and pest and disease control through micro-irrigation techniques.

As part of the training program, participating farmers were given a guided tour of the museum and research fields at the center, where they learned about the various crop research activities being conducted.
