Decline in Hepatitis Cases in Dharmaj Village

Anand, Friday: Following the detection of hepatitis cases in Dharmaj village, Petlad Taluka, health teams are conducting door-to-door surveys under the guidance of District Collector Praveen Chaudhary and District Development Officer Devahuti.
According to the Chief District Health Officer, 19 health teams are actively working in Dharmaj village. These teams are identifying water leakages and conducting door-to-door health screenings.
The health teams identified 38 water leakages, which have been repaired by the Dharmaj Gram Panchayat, as confirmed by Talati-cum-Minister Ronak Bhavsar.
The Chief District Health Officer reported that a total of 121 hepatitis cases have been recorded so far, with 3 new cases reported today. Among them, 2 patients have been admitted, while one patient from yesterday was discharged. Currently, 17 patients are undergoing treatment. Over the past four days, there has been a consistent decline in hepatitis cases.
Additionally, the health department has distributed 28,632 chlorine tablets to ensure safe drinking water. Residents are advised to drink boiled water and consume warm food as a precaution.
The health department has urged the public to immediately visit the nearest health center if they experience hepatitis symptoms and avoid self-medication.
