Publish Date : 19/03/2025

Anand, Tuesday: To prevent crimes such as theft and robbery, the Additional District Magistrate of Anand has issued an official order mandating CCTV cameras with night vision and high-definition recording systems at business establishments with high public footfall.

As per the directive, all hotels, restaurants, dining halls, malls, banks, jewelry shops, angadia firms, petrol pumps, and toll plazas in the district must install CCTV cameras. The cameras must be positioned to capture vehicle license plates and record the driver and front-seat passenger clearly.

Additionally, to prevent incidents of abduction and harassment in commercial complexes and educational institutions, CCTV cameras must be installed at school and college entry/exit points. These cameras should be capable of identifying individuals and vehicles, ensuring clear night-time recording, and storing footage for at least six months.

This order will remain in effect until September 8, 2025. Any violation of this mandate will be subject to penal action under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023.
