Anand, Tuesday: Under the orders of Anand Municipal Corporation Commissioner Milind Bapna, the health department team and sanitary inspectors conducted surprise inspections at various hotels and restaurants in the municipal area to check public hygiene.
During the inspections, serious health violations were found at Rajasthani Dal Bati and Taza Pizza on Vidyanagar Road and Naz Restaurant on Station Road, which posed a significant risk to public health. As a result, all three establishments have been sealed.
The health department team, including the Medical Officer of Health and Sanitary Inspectors, carried out hygiene inspections at these establishments. They found dirty kitchens, uncovered food with flies sitting on it, and an overall lack of cleanliness. The restaurant staff was also found to be lacking proper hygiene, making the environment hazardous to public health. Consequently, these restaurants were sealed under Section 376-A of the GPMC Act.
According to Dr. Sudhir Panchal, Medical Officer of Health, intensive inspections of food establishments will continue in the coming days. If any hotel, restaurant, or street food vendor is found compromising public health, legal action will be taken against them. All food business operators in the Anand Municipal Corporation area are urged to maintain proper hygiene and cleanliness.
