Anand Municipal Corporation Conducts Cleanliness Drive, Disposes of 265 Tons of Waste

Fumigation, Anti-Larvae Spraying, Door-to-Door Waste Collection, and Drain Cleaning Undertaken Across Various Areas

Anand, Thursday: Under the guidance of Municipal Commissioner Milind Bapna, the Anand Municipal Corporation (AMC) has launched a systematic cleanliness drive as part of the Swachh Survekshan (Cleanliness Survey). This campaign is being conducted from January 26, 2025, to February 28, 2025, across multiple areas of the city.

During the first week of the campaign, cleanliness activities were carried out at New Bus Stand, Old Bus Stand, Railway Station Area, Vitcos City Bus Stand, and in schools and Anganwadis.

In the second week, statues of great personalities and major city entry points were cleaned.

During the third week, cleaning efforts focused on government hospitals, urban health centers, and Rupapura Bridge.

In the fourth week, various religious sites were cleaned, including Bhatiji Temple, Bethak Mandir, Siddhi Vinayak Temple, Ramji Mandir-Valasan, Adyashakti Mandir, Gayatri Mandir, and Radha Krishna Mandir.

Throughout the drive, garbage-vulnerable points (areas where waste accumulates) and public restrooms were cleaned regularly.

Additionally, a cleanliness campaign was conducted in Karamasad, Vidyanagar, Gamdi, Lambhvel, Jitodia, and Mogri, during which a total of 265 tons of waste was collected and processed at the dumping site.

To control mosquitoes, the Malaria Department of Anand Municipal Corporation carried out fogging operations and anti-larvae spraying across various areas. The campaign also included door-to-door waste collection and cleaning of stormwater drains in residential societies.

Municipal Commissioner Milind Bapna urged all citizens to actively participate in this cleanliness campaign and contribute to keeping the city clean.

The campaign saw the participation of citizens, social workers, and women’s self-help groups.
