Anand, Friday: As part of the Anand Utsav, the Tribal Research and Training Society, Gandhinagar, under the Tribal Development Department of Gujarat, has organized a Tribal Handicraft and Food Fair at Shastri Maidan, Vallabh Vidyanagar, from March 7 to March 11, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM.

This handicraft fair showcases the valuable artworks and handicrafts of artisans from 11 tribal districts of Gujarat. A total of 25 stalls have been set up, including 19 for art & craft and 6 for tribal food stalls.

The fair was inaugurated by Tourism Minister Shri Mulubhai Bera. Additionally, dignitaries also inaugurated a stall set up by the Gujarat State Sangeet Natak Academy, which provides information about the Indian Constitution.

The fair, organized by the Tribal Development Department and the Tribal Research and Training Society, features handicrafts, traditional tribal food stalls, agricultural products, minor forest produce, and herbal medicines, making it a major attraction for visitors.

At the tribal food stalls, visitors can savor traditional tribal dishes such as Nagli Rotla, Dhokla, Papad, Flour, Urad Dal, Dhebra, Singoda Leaf Paneer, and Rice Rotla. Those wishing to experience these authentic flavors are invited to visit Shastri Maidan, Vallabh Vidyanagar.

Artisans from 11 tribal districts of Banaskantha, Aravalli, Panchmahal, Dahod, Chhota Udepur, Tapi, Bharuch, Surat, Valsad, Navsari, and Dang have participated in this exhibition and sale fair. Citizens can visit the fair daily from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM.

The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Deputy Chief Whip Shri Ramanbhai Solanki, MP Shri Miteshbhai Patel, District Leader Sanjaybhai Patel, District Panchayat President Hasmukhbhai Patel, MLAs Kamlesh Patel, Vipul Patel, Yogesh Patel, District Collector Shri Pravin Chaudhary, Municipal Commissioner Shri Milind Bapna, District Development Officer Ms. Devahuti, and a large number of people.
