Ban on Gatherings, Processions, and Weapons in Anand District Until February 21

Anand, Saturday: The general and by-elections for municipalities and taluka panchayats in Anand district are scheduled to take place on February 16, 2025, with vote counting on February 18, 2025.

Considering the current situation and to maintain law and order, Shri Ruturaj Desai (G.A.S.), Additional District Magistrate, Anand, has imposed restrictions across Anand district until February 21, 2025. The restrictions include:

• A ban on carrying weapons such as firearms, swords, spears, clubs, sticks, burning torches, or any other objects that could cause physical harm.
• A prohibition on gatherings of more than four people without prior permission from the competent authority.
• A restriction on organizing or attending meetings, assemblies, or processions of more than four people.

These restrictions apply to all public places, including roads, footpaths, streets, alleys, and public buildings throughout Anand district.

Anyone found violating these orders will be liable for legal action under the relevant laws.
